The houseboat is moored along one of Amsterdam’s historic canals in the heart of the city. This area is known for its calm atmosphere while still being very central. From the boat, you are surrounded by water, classic canal houses, and tree-lined quays, giving a true sense of Amsterdam’s maritime character. Many of the city’s main attractions, cafés, restaurants, and public transport connections are within easy walking distance, making the location both peaceful and highly convenient. Staying here offers a unique perspective on the city, right on the water yet close to everything Amsterdam has to offer.
The ship is located at Oudeschans no. 5P in the historic center. Through a footbridge you can enter the deck and acces the private entrance of the suite.

My B&B is located on the Oudeschans, one of Amsterdam’s most picturesque canals, where historic warehouses, houseboats and quiet quays come together. This is the heart of the old city centre, within walking distance of Nieuwmarkt, the Montelbaanstoren and the lively Zeedijk with its great restaurants and cafés. From here, you can easily explore Chinatown, the Waterlooplein flea market and winding streets filled with boutique shops, coffee spots and hidden courtyards. Despite the central location, Oudeschans feels surprisingly calm—perfect for unwinding by the water after a day of exploring the city. This is Amsterdam at its best: authentic, vibrant and wonderfully relaxed.
The area is very well connected by public transport: Nieuwmarkt metro station is just a few minutes’ walk away, with direct connections to Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol Airport. Several tram stops are nearby, making it easy to reach museums, shopping streets and other neighborhoods. Of course, the best way to explore Amsterdam is on foot or by bike—and from here, everything is close by.
If you are arriving by car, please note that street parking in the city centre is limited and paid. A convenient option is Parking Centrum Oosterdok, a large, secure parking garage within walking distance of the B&B, known for its attractive rates compared to street parking. Many guests also choose to use a Park & Ride (P+R) facility outside the city and continue by public transport, which is often the most affordable option.
Our houseboat has multiple private areas. You’ll be staying in the beautiful suite shown in the photos, which is your private space during the stay. Other parts of the boat are not included.
Don't worry: although our boutique B&B has only recently become available, we already have extensive experience with top-notch hospitality. Let yourself be convinced by our sublime reviews of our affiliated high-quality accommodations in the historic center of Amsterdam. Take a look at the Captains Cabin and Sailors Suite at:

Rohen was a great host alongside the great stay on the boat. In a perfect location with just a short walk to everywhere if we come to Amsterdam again we will definitely be staying here. The boat is pristine and has everything you need, he was very accommodating. A true Amsterdam experience!
We were honored to be the first guests at this very peaceful and comfortable houseboat stay. The hosts were welcoming and we really enjoyed getting to know them at the beginning of our stay. They have put much thought into provisions and amenities, and we were quite comfortable. Communication was swift and attentive, and Gerben provided us with a great introduction to the city with a number of highlights to help us get our bearings. The neighborhood was convenient and quiet, an easy walk from Centraal, as well as to many very good restaurants and other highlights. A note- this is a boat, so if you have large and numerous luggage, it could be a challenge getting them on and off, and down and up the steps. We had small bags and were not worried. It also might be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Other than that, we would highly recommend, and have already shared this lodging with friends. Thanks to Gerben, Albert & Rohen for a most enjoyable stay in Amsterdam!
What a wonderful stay we had in central Amsterdam at this property.Living on a houseboat for 3 days was a unique experience which we enjoyed very much. The boat offered us a place to sleep (bed very comfortable) and a place to relax both inside with 3 different seating areas or outside on the little terrace watching the river traffic go by. I loved my afternoon cup of tea sat here in the sunshine. The shower was surprisingly good and we enjoyed taking a sauna. The area is a pretty residential street which felt safe and was quiet with a 10 minute stroll to the hustle and bustle of things and the main station.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to those looking for accommodation with a memorable difference.
This houseboat was very conveniently located within walking distance of everything in central Amsterdam. Cute living space with multiple sitting areas, and the absolute best little patio to relax and watch the canal boats go by. All the amenities needed and more, including a private sauna. Super friendly and helpful hosts. Definitely recommend!
